The small town, 17 kilometres southeast of Dubrovnik, is situated in the southern part of the Zupski zaljev bay.
The village is located on the peninsula Rat, southeast of the Tiha bay.

Cilipi is situated in the heart of the region Konavle.

The village’s character is its beautiful medieval centre which is dominated of the church St. Nikolaus.

On the churche’s forecourt there is a weekly event of traditional music and dance.
