Okuklje is the oldest Croatian seaside situated
village on the island Mljet. Okuklje was founded in the 15th century.
In 1963 the village was pillaged and burned out completely by pirates.
Only in the recent past the town was renovated and rebuilt by the
presidents of Marinovici.
Okuklje is the safest bay on the island, which was named "Porto
Cammera" by the Italians.
